RAINBOW BRIDGE

(author unknown)
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.....

CREATION

(author unknown)
When God had made the earth and sky,
The flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals,
And all the birds and bees.
And when His work was finished,
Not one was quite the same,
He said "I'll walk this earth of mine,
And give each one a name."
And so He travelled land and sea,
And everywhere He went,
A little creature followed Him
Until its strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
And in the sky and sea,
The little creature said "Dear Lord
There's not one left for me."
The Father smiled and softly said
"I've left you till the end
I've turned my own name back to front
And called you Dog, my friend."

"IN MEMORY" page

Only a couple years ago we put together this web page in memory of our two babies, Amber and Angel. They had died so close together and we were devastated. Six weeks after they had gone to rainbow bridge we brought home a tri-colored collie and we named her Sweet Brandy Wine. And so sweet she was. We never dreamed what the future was going to bring us. This Friday, March 26th, 1999, I got up around 6 a.m. and came downstairs. At first I thought she was asleep but it was not to be. She had died during the night. We took her to the vet and he examined her and we were told she had died from a twisted stomach. We are still in shock and disbelief. My eyes feel like they are full of grit and the pain is almost unbearable. She was with us only 2 years and 10 months but she gave us so many memories. We are having her cremated and she will be placed with Amber and Angel. We still have Duchess but she is grieving too. We will never forget our sweet Brandi and we will miss her till our dying day. Our sweet Brandi, we love you and miss you.

She won't replace Brandi, but we will love her just as much.

03/24/2007 Duchess left us for Rainbow Bridge. I got up the morning of the 23rd and she couldn't stand. We took her to the vet and they couldn't find anything wrong. She had started having seizure's about four years before and the thought was maybe she had one that did something to her that wouldn't allow her legs to work. Either that or she might have had a stroke. After a day to see if she would get better, she in fact got worse, we made the decision and she died around 4:30 PM on the 24th. My wife was with her, I had to leave the room until it was over. I just haven't been able to be there when it happens with any of our dogs. I did go in afterwards to say good bye to her. I didn't say good bye before because she knew that meant that she was going to be left while we went away. I didn't want her to feel that way this time.

April 2008, Princess died of heart failure. She was so loving, would put up with a lot from other dogs until enough was enough. She would then let them know, usually with just a bark, and that would be the end of the problem. We had brought home another collie, named Lady after the collie I had as a kid, four months before Princess died. After being without Duchess for 8 months she loved having a puppy around again. After Duchess died Princess lost her puppieness she always had. But regained it when Lady came into the house.

A Special Place

(Author Unknown)

You have a special place, Dear Lord, that I know you'll always keep. A special place reserved for dogs, to peacefully fall asleep. A place with fluffy pillows, and a yard for hiding bones, With maybe a little babbling creek, that rushes over stones. With wide green fields and flowers, for those who never knew Of running, playing freely under sky of perfect blue. Lord, I know you keep this special place, And so, to you I pray For one special Collie who came to you today. He was full of strength and love, And so very, very wise. The puppy look he once had, This morning left his eyes. He will be dearly missed, Lord, This special love of mine. But now, he'll romp and play in your land that's so divine. Speak to my baby softly, please; with a hug and warm hello. He's a special gift to you, Dear Lord; From me - who loves him so.
